Review: Penny Arcade Armadeaddon By StacMaster-S Published: August 18, 2006
Print Email
As a whole, Penny Arcade has been pretty well known for its avoidance of storyline continuity... focusing instead on one shot strips providing commentary on video game news or a new game title, but for the last week and a half they seem to have made an exception with a series of strips entitled "Armadeaddon" (based on the premise of the recent hit Xbox 360 title Dead Rising).
Not only are they on their fifth strip in a row (with undoubtedly more on the way), but the series is turning into a vertiable fan service holiday with favorite characters popping out of the woodwork for trapped-in-a-mall/zombie related hi-jinx. And you know, I don't think there's a damn thing wrong with that. So far the comedic results have been great, and why not give the fans a little of what they want now and then... especially in a comic with a cast of creative side characters who rarely get tapped for comic use.
I honestly can't wait to see who appears next... Div? Jesus? Guy? Thomas Kemper? Mr. Tails? I am definetly looking forward to next weeks strips.
My only complaint is that my personal favorite character, the Magic Hate Ball, will probably never return. Discuss this review in the Forum!

A month or two ago Scott Kurtz mentioned that his PvP website was going to get a total redesign... and now a beta version is up which you can check out through a link on the current site.
The beta site has a more interesting look, and a much more "comicy feel" compared to the somewhat bland design that is currently running. Go check it out! Discuss this article in the Forum!
